Rocky

Yesterday I was taking Conrad on a little bike ride when I got a crazy idea that I wanted to go buy him a little pet bunny. I loaded him in the car and headed to Animal Ark. Conrad loved going from animal to animal. He especially loved trying to open the lids on all the fish tanks to try and touch the water. He also loved watching the mice run on their wheel.

I tracked down an employee who helped me grab everything I needed to take care of the bunny (I even bought a leash to take it on walks!). He is a Netherlands Dwarf Rabbit. The only thing I was missing was a hutch to keep it in! I called Ransom and let him know that he would have a surprise when he got home. He was happy to have a bunny, but I think he wishes I would have waited until we had a hutch ready! He went to DI to buy a dog kennel and is going to make a hutch in the next couple of weeks.

Conrad loves the little bunny, but I don't think he likes Conrad much. We're trying to teach him how to pet the bunny. So far he hasn't learned anything. It's fun to watch Conrad stare at the bunny and chase him around. Ransom decided we should name him Rocky because the color of his fur. I was thinking maybe we should name him Poop because Conrad would be able to say his name, but we decided to go with Rocky. -Katie

Ear Infection

On Thursday Conrad had a temperature of 102 all day. I called the doctor's office and they said to come in if it got to 103. I stayed home from work and we spent the day snuggling together. If I got up to get a drink he would cry until I came back, if he fell asleep and I tried to get up he would wake up so I spent the whole day and night on the couch with him.

The next morning his temperature was gone, but he had his 18 month check up so we headed to the doctor's office. The doctor was going through the regular check up and I expected him to say everything looked good. I was surprised when he said that Conrad had an ear infection. I think he has a huge pain tolerance from falling down and running into stuff because he hadn't given me any signs that his ear had been hurting. He had been running around happy all morning.

I thought giving him the medicine would be a breeze because Ashlee always talked about how much she loves it. When Kelsie and Abby would get an ear infection she would sneak some of their medicine! We weren't so lucky. He just screamed the whole time and I had to force it in his mouth. I wasn't sure if I would be able to do this 19 more times. I tried mixing it in with milk. It worked once, but then our luck ran out. He inspects all his drinks now to make sure there is no sign of pink! Luckily, Ransom thought of mixing it in with his strawberry yogurt and it seems to be working! -Katie

Mother's Day

I woke up on Mother's Day to a yummy breakfast and a beautiful handpicked bouquet of flowers from Ransom. I don't think I could have married a better husband or wished for a better baby. I'm so lucky to have them in my life. -Katie

APX Party

I had never been to a company party before but I heard that APX has some pretty fun ones so I went to this years party. I am glad I went because this girl in my department named Afton was helping with the Helicopter rides and she let me, Katie and Conrad go on one! That was the best! Katie won the raffle to go into the CashCage, it is a glass box with money blowing around everywhere. She did not want to do it so I took her place and grabbed $112.00!! That was pretty fun. They had some really good food for us from Lon's cooking shack. and I helped hand out company shirts at the shirt booth for a little bit. Conrad wasn't too sure about all the inflatable slides, but warmed up to them in the end. All in all it was a really cool party. -Rans
