towel time

Ransom was getting Conrad out of the bath when suddenly he thought it would be fun to wrap Conrad's towel around his waist. I couldn't help but laugh when I saw him. He must have been embarrassed about his gut because he kept sticking in his stomach! -Katie

Double Date

Amy really wanted me to meet this guy she was starting to maybe kind of like so we set up a double date. We had a yummy dinner and had fruit pizza for dessert. After, we watched some funny you tube videos, played some games, and watched Oceans 13. It was so nice to spend some time with Amy because I don't get to see or talk to her very often. I really hope that one day we can be next door neighbors so I can see her every day like we always joked about growing up!

my little mexican baby

I was just having an all around bad day so Ransom surprised me and took me to MiRanchito for dinner. I was so excited because I love it and I don't get it very often. My day quickly got better as I spent time with Conrad and Ransom. Those two are pretty crazy so they can get you laughing pretty quick.

The highlight of the whole night was watching Conrad eating the chips & salsa. He was a little motor and would not stop eating. Ransom and I had to ask for our own chips & salsa because he did not want to share. He was covered in salsa by the end of the night, but he was one happy boy. It's nice to see that he loves Mexican food just like me! -Katie

A Visit From Ryan

Ryan and I have been planning to go snowboarding together for a long time now. He is a member of the Ski Club in his high school and they come up to Utah once a year and go to 3 different resorts. So I met up with Ryan and we headed up to The Canyons. It is the biggest resort that I have ever been to. The plan was for Ryan to come home and spend the night with me and Katie but we were afraid that his teachers would not let him. They were cool though and they had no problem with him spending the night.

I was hoping to get in on the school discount because I was with the group. Bit when I went to the ticket counter with one of the teachers in charge, they could not even find the tickets that the school had ordered. When they finally found them he said that he could not add me in to get a school discount. But the guy felt bad for having us wait so he gave me half off! Good story.

We were boarding with Tyson and Brandon Niccole. Tyson had been there before and he knew his way around. We pretty much followed him around and he took us to some pretty crazy places. I mean they were almost straight down and covered in trees! It was fun though to go with Ryan. He is pretty good. We both hit a few trees, but not too bad. Our goal was to go from one side of the resort to the other and back in one day. We did it. I was so tired I could barely move by the end of the day, but we made it.

On the way back I was in a hurry to get back to the Temple on time. I took what I thought was a short-cut through Midway instead of driving through Heber, but when we came to the highway we saw a car go by that had been behind us and had gone through Heber! So it was not much of a short-cut and Ryan was teasing me. Luckily, we made it on time and Ryan got to hang out with Conrad while we were at the Temple. Then we played Rock Band and went bowling. Ryan is great to hang out with. I wish that I could hang out with my family more often.   -Ransom

Happy Birthday Ransom!

Ransom is one of a kind! He knows how to look on the positive side of things, to find joy in the little things, to make me laugh, to say the most off the wall things that only he could get away with saying, to help me when I have taken on too much (I can't count how many times this has happened!), to be a worthy Priesthood holder, to love his family more than anything else, to support me when I'm down, to tolerate my stubborness and other sometimes frustrating habits, to know exactly what I want/need without having to say anything, to be full of gas and somehow still be so lovable, to give me advice, to love all things Neil Diamond, to accept me as I am, to be a good daddy to Conrad, to help around the house. I am truly blessed to have him in my life. Happy Birthday!

Here were some highlights of the day:
  • Ransom only working half day
  • All you can eat sushi from Sushi Ya with Kelsie and Josh. Kelsie and I stopping at Taco Bell after so that we could eat some real good food!
  • Josh Mackey helping me make one of the coolest cards ever!
  • Going to see Valkyrie at Movies 8
  • Just spending time together.

101 Dalmatians

I don't know when or how it started, but before I knew it Conrad was hooked to 101 Dalmatians. All I have to say is, "Do you want to watch the puppy movie?" and he is all smiles as he heads right to the tv to help me turn it on. As much as he loves the movie, he usually only watches it for about 30 minutes before he starts running around again. He always comes back to see what is going on when he hears the dogs barking. Sometimes I ask him if I can watch a different movie and he just shakes his head no.

As much as I hate that I have seen this movie at least once every day for the past month, it has a few perks too. I know that each day I will have a few minutes to tidy up the house, make dinner, get some work done, etc. -Katie

just 15 more years!

Ransom's cousin Audrey helps us out and watches Conrad for us a couple days a week. This morning when she came Conrad was starting to cry when I started to leave so she grabbed her keys to distract him. He grabbed the keys so fast, found her car key, and headed for the door. Before I knew it he was half way to the car. As I drove off for work he was happily sitting on Audrey's lap pretending to drive and moving every lever that he could reach. I don't know if he is going to be happy waiting 15 years before he can actually make the car move! -Katie
