Grizzlies Hockey

For Valentine's Day Katie bought me tickets to the Utah Grizzlies Hockey game. It had been a long time since I had been to a hockey game so I was excited to go. We decided that it would be fun to bring Conrad. We found our seats and there were a few empty seats next to us and it was a good thing because Conrad needed the room. I don't know what was more entertaining, the game or Conrad. There were a bunch of kids sitting in the row behind us and he made friends with them really fast. They would cheer and clap and then he would cheer and clap with them. They would play peek-a-boo with him and talk to him. Conrad never stopped moving. He would walk down to the family next to us and try to get their attention. When they smiled at him or said anything to him he would laugh and run away. And every time the crowd cheered he would stand up and clap. I think we did end up watching him more than the game. It was a good game though. Utah won and we had a good view, plus there were a few small fights.

On the way home we stopped at a little gas station to get a drink. I went inside and Katie and Conrad stayed out in the car. When I came out I walked up to Katie's side of the car to give her her drink and I saw that her face was all red and she looked all shaken up about something. She grabbed a pen and started writing on her hand as fast as she could. I asked her what was wrong and she said, "Go look at the back of the car someone  just hit us and drove off, but I saw their license plate!" So I went back there and sure enough there was a big paint streak and a bunch of scratches on the back bumper. So I called the police and they came and got all of the information from us.  Katie said that after the car hit us, a guy from inside the gas station ran out and jumped in the car really fast and then drove off in a hurry. The officer said that he was really glad that Katie had seen the plates of the car because that gas station has been well known for drug deals and this could be a good lead.  On the way home we were talking to each other about how crazy the night had been. -Ransom

What a blog. I like the way you write Ransom. I could just picture you guys at the Hockey game and watching Conrad! How scary about the hit and run. Quick thinking Katie and glad you are all safe.
